I started working at the Bath VA Medical Center in August of 1973. I'm now retired from "Bill Hefner" VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC since December 2011. I work for 38 years. I was Safety & Occupational Health Specialist. I have (3) wonderful children (Brandi - Michelle - Brian). Now have (3) grandchildren & one on the way ... Kyndall (Brandi's)- Dallas + 1 more boy(Michelle's)- Rome (Brian's), His wife is Lisa & she has two little girls (Haven & Sullivan). I am now married to Connie so I am also a step-Dad of Troy & Alisha who are grown and married. Troy (Jennifer) have 6 year old, Jackson. Alisha (Andrew) will have a little boy in September. So I have a very large extended family. I enjoy playing golf, fishing and listening to beach music. Love to grill out and have family, coworkers and friends over for good times. Finished law school in '79 and began practicing in- house at NC's largest life insurance company in Greensboro. Have lived in NC, MS, CO, IN, TX, TN and now our second (and last) stint in the sunshine state. My wife and I love Florida. Still in-house lawyer - I work from my home and our corporate office in Nashville, TN (it's called teleworking). Got married in '81. Not blessed with kids so went the dog route. I married the love of my life (Shirley Baroody). We have four children, three boys and one girl. Our sons all live close by and our daughter lives at Ft. Drum New York. We have eight grand children, four boys and four girls, ages 10 to 8 months. I have had a few jobs since high school. I worked at Babcock Ladder for a short time and from there went to Haines Equipment in Avoca. While working there I found an auto repair shop for sale in Avoca. Shirley and I bought it and with in 16 years out grew the shop on Main street. We built the current shop we are in now, on County Rt. 70A, in 1997. Our two oldest sons work for us and our youngest son and his wife run the first shop we were in on Main Street in Avoca. This business has provided very well for us. We employee 7 other men in the shop and three women in the office. Shirley and I like to hook on to the 5th wheel and go camping. We don't usually get to go for very long at a time due to the business, but we plan to change that and take more time off in the very near future. We like going to church together on Sundays. We also like to hoast large fmaily get togethers. Shirley is the best cook and everyone likes to come to our place for meals. We have a small park and pond on our property with a play ground and a picnic pavillion that we hold huge family reunions at. After graduating in 1966, I met a handsome,funny,sensitive and wonderful man named Jim and we were married in 1967. We have been married for 45 glorious years. We have four beautiful daughters Kimberly, Maureen, Michelle and Christine. We also have four grandsons and one granddaughter. We get to spoil them guite often. We are lucky to have three of our daughters living close to us in the Houston area and one living 4 hours away in the Shrevesport, LA area. We are both retired and enjoying every minute of our retirement.
